A standing house for the stewardship of institutions.
The Global Directorate Institute is an independent body of scholars, jurists and former heads of government dedicated to the formation of those who lead the world's directorates, ministries and boards.
Forming directors. Strengthening institutions. Shaping nations.
The Institute exists to answer a single question: by what standard shall those entrusted with the direction of nations, enterprises and multilateral bodies be prepared for that responsibility?
We convene the world's most consequential leaders — ministers, chairs, chief justices, vice chancellors and heads of state — into a discipline of governance that is at once ancient in its virtues and contemporary in its methods.
Our work is quiet, deliberate and enduring. It is not measured in press cycles but in the resilience of the institutions our fellows are called to lead.
The four articles of the House.
Independence
The Institute holds no partisan allegiance and accepts no directive from any state, party or private interest.
Rigour
Every programme, publication and pronouncement is subject to peer review by the standing faculty.
Discretion
The confidences of ministers, chairs and heads of state are held with unbroken silence.
Endurance
The Institute is constituted for the century, not the cycle.
